Travel Adventures
Travel broadens your horizon, pushes you out of your comfort zone, and exposes you to new cultures, other ways of living, and contrasting nature experiences. Without traveling, we live our lives as we always have done, accepting our life bubble as the immutable truth. Travels strengthen our capability to understand, create, innovate and love.
I have used a systematic approach to list and share my travel. I also love to take photos while traveling. Please do not interpret this as an encouragement to travel by following bucket lists, ticking off destinations, or worse: to collect likes. When travelers tell me they “did” [insert destination], it gives me goosebumps. Please, travel to meet people, travel to experience nature and culture, and travel by using your eyes: not only through your camera. Travel fearless and open-minded, ready to embrace what lays ahead. Let it change you.
I hope you’ll find some ideas and inspiration in the travel posts I have gathered on this little website.

Engadin & St. Moritz
The Engadin Valley in Switzerland has more to offer than just St. Moritz. UNESCO railways, glaciers, mountain biking and lots of hiking opportunities.
Nordfjordkysten
An unknown part of Fjord-Norway. Wild islands, white sand beached coves, lighthouses, hidden gems Kannesteinen and the spectacular Hornelen hike.
Loen
Loen in autumn is just WOW, and without the crowds. We hiked and biked to Lodalen/Lovatnet, Olden, Briksdalsbreen, and tried the Loen via ferrata, of course!
New Zealand
Our first family holiday had to be spent in my beloved New Zealand. Hot springs, volcanoes, tropical forest, beaches, mountains, glaciers and much more!
USA
An awesome stop-over in Colorado to enjoy snow with great friends, followed by tourism workshops with Innovation Norway in San Francisco and Seattle.
Madeira
This Atlantic Portuguese island is the perfect hiking destination, combining a great variety of trails through mountainous scenery with a pleasant climate.
New York
Together with Innovation Norway and other Norwegian outdoor tourism companies, I travelled to the Big Apple for tourism workshops and sightseeing.
Seattle | Mt Rainier NP
On a business trip to meet tent producer Hilleberg in Seattle, I made some time for a mini roadtrip to the Cascades, around Mount Rainier.
Iceland
The island of ice and fire offers great hiking in surreal scenery. We spend a full week of hiking Fimmvörðuháls, Skaftafjell, Snæfellsnes and other gems.
Around the World
Based on travel & hiking advice from my guiding company’s guests, I travelled around the world in 6 weeks to find the best hiking locations.
Inca Trail
“The trail of all trails”. A 4-day, 43 km long hike through Andean jungle and mountains, past ancient Inca ruins, ending at Machu Picchu.
Chile – Drive & Hike
Driving through the varied Chilean scenery, I hiked Conguillo National Park, Altos del Lircay National Reserve, and Pan de Azucar National Park.
Pucón – Chile
Pucon is the adventure capital of Chile. I hiked Jurassic Park-like Huerquehue National Park, rafted the Rio Trancure, and climbed Villarica Volcano.
New Zealand
The country of adrenaline adventure. Caving at Waitomo Caves, climbing Mount Taranaki and skydiving in Taupo. Plus a range of hidden gems. I ♥ NZ.
Overland Track
According to the Visitor Guide: “The Overland Track is an extraordinary journey through the heart of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.” It is!
Melbourne
Melbourne is a beautiful, vibrant, and international city. Lots of green parks, good food, changing weather, and great people.
Hong Kong Trail
Jungle and skyscrapers side-by-side. Hiking the 50 kilometer long Hong Kong Trail is surprisingly stunning. Is it possible to hike the trail in one day?
Patagonia
Exploring hikes in Argentinian Tierra del Fuego and Chilean Torres del Paine. Cruising the fjords of Patagonia, followed by a roadtrip to Santiago. Bacán!
Antarctica
Working onboard MS Fram on two expeditions to The Falklands / Malvinas, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula. Glaciers, penguins and so much more.
Antarctic Peninsula
The coolest adventure ever. Hiking, snow shoeing, camping and swimming! Ice bergs, mountains, glaciers, penguins, whales. Even a volcano and hot springs!
South Georgia
Shark teeth-like, glacier covered mountains rise steeply out of the Atlantic. On its shores, a cacophonic wildlife, full of penguins and seals. Mind-blowing.
Falkland Islands
On our way to Antarctica, we encountered our first penguins and British hospitality at the islands of Saunders, West Point and Carcass, and at Stanley, the capital.
The Norwegian Coast
Joining MS Fram’s Expedition Team for 2 sailings from Svalbard, along the coast, to Bergen. Glaciers, mountains, fjords, northern lights, wildife, and more!
Singapore
Celebrating having finished my master’s thesis, I joined my on duty airline crew member Steven, for a trip to the island and city-state of Singapore.
Uluru Road Trip
6300-km Outback road trip to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and back to Melbourne. Great Ocean Road, Coober Pedy, Alice Springs, Oodnadatta Track, Flinders Ranges++
Lincoln University – NZ
I studied one semester in Christchurch as part of my master’s degree in Nature-Based Tourism. It involved a lot of traveling and hiking, all around New Zealand.
South & North II
This 17-day road trip along a series of New Zealand’s major highlights concluded my study exchange. An unforgettable journey with my brother.
Cook Islands
5 days on Rarotonga, one of the Cook Islands, in the middle of the Pacific, far far away from Norway. A retreat holiday, and a truly exotic experience!
South & North Is. I
9-day New Zealand road trip along hot springs, seal colony, Wellington, Whanganui River Road, thermal pools & creeks, geysers, Hobbiton, and more.
Runnskrinnet (Falun)
Participating in the 60km Runnskrinnet ice skating event on Lake Runn near Swedish Falun, in minus 19 degrees Celsius, is one of my craziest ventures ever.
Corsica
A week of adventure on Corsica, as a substitute outdoor education teacher. Hiking, climbing, canyoning, biking, kayaking with a sporty group of students!
