Living in Norway since 2006
I am a Dutchy turned Norwegian outdoor adventure enthusiast. On this website, you’ll find a range of outdoor adventures in Norway and abroad. Enjoy!
Engadine & St. Moritz
The Engadin Valley in Switzerland has more to offer than just St. Moritz. UNESCO railways, glaciers, mountain biking and lots of hiking opportunities.
Kanalruta | Lysefjorden
Biking along Telemarkskanalen, over Suleskard and finishing at the Lysefjord. Biking 350 km in 10 days with 2 small kids was a totally new kind of adventure.
An unknown part of Fjord-Norway. Wild islands, white sand beached coves, lighthouses, hidden gems Kannesteinen and the spectacular Hornelen hike.
3 days of biking along several highlights in Norway: Rallarvegen, Flåm, Nærøyfjorden, Aurlandsfjellet and Stalheimsvegen. Biking fjords & mountains with our son.
Realizing a dream, I started my own tour guiding company. Me and my great team guided over 10,000 guests to Preikestolen, Kjerag and other gems at the Lysefjord.
Loen in autumn is just WOW, and without the crowds. We hiked and biked to Lodalen/Lovatnet, Olden, Briksdalsbreen, and tried the Loen via ferrata, of course!
Ryfylke Bike & Boat
Our first biking holiday with our son. On this 3-day tour, we tested our new kid trailer, and cycling with electrical bikes, while island hopping through Ryfylke.
Our first family holiday had to be spent in my beloved New Zealand. Hot springs, volcanoes, tropical forest, beaches, mountains, glaciers and much more!
An awesome stop-over in Colorado to enjoy the snow with great friends, followed by tourism workshops with Innovation Norway in San Francisco and Seattle.
Together with Innovation Norway and other Norwegian outdoor tourism companies, I travelled to the Big Apple for tourism workshops and sightseeing.
This Atlantic Portuguese island is the perfect hiking destination, combining a great variety of trails through mountainous scenery with a pleasant climate.
5 days of hiking and wild camping in the unknown, stunning mountains of Hjelmeland in Ryfylke. Cloud berries, small creeks, mountain lakes, gorges +++
Known for Trolltunga, Hardanger has so many other great fjords & mountain hikes to offer. Dronningstien, Husedalen and Buførevegen, to name a few.
Seattle | Mt. Rainier NP
On a business trip to meet tent producer Hilleberg in Seattle, I made some time for a mini road trip to the Cascades, around Mount Rainier.
The island of ice and fire offers great hiking in surreal scenery. We spend a full week of hiking Fimmvörðuháls, Skaftafjell, Snæfellsnes, and other gems.
Around the World
Based on travel & hiking advice from my guiding company’s guests, I travelled around the world in 6 weeks to find the best hiking locations.
Exploring hikes in Argentinian Tierra del Fuego and Chilean Torres del Paine. Cruising the fjords of Patagonia, followed by a roadtrip to Santiago. Bacán!
Working onboard MS Fram on two expeditions to The Falklands / Malvinas, South Georgia, and the Antarctic Peninsula. Glaciers, penguins and so much more.
The Norwegian Coast
Joining MS Fram’s Expedition Team for 2 sailings from Svalbard, along the coast, to Bergen. Glaciers, mountains, fjords, northern lights, wildife, and more!
Kjerag Ski Tour
Is it possible to hike to Kjerag in winter? We tried on skis, and reached Kjerag in 2 days. We spent the night in a snow cave with a view on the Lysefjord. Magic.
Crossing the largest mountain plateau in Europe is a true adventure, away from civilization. A crossing takes several days. Here, I felt like an expeditioner.
In preparing for starting up a guided tour company, I hiked 80 km around most of the Lysefjord, visiting Preikestolen, Kjerag, Flørli, and more along the way.
1,300 km from the North Pole, I engaged in the Arctic Nature Guide course. Glaciers, polar bears, midnight sun, northern lights, and living in a tent for months.
Celebrating having finished my master’s thesis, I joined my on duty airline crew member Steven, for a trip to the island and city-state of Singapore.

Participating in the 60km Runnskrinnet ice skating event on Lake Runn near Swedish Falun, in minus 19 degrees Celsius, is one of my craziest ventures ever.
A week of adventure on Corsica, as a substitute outdoor education teacher. Hiking, climbing, canyoning, biking, kayaking with a sporty group of students!
